'Paintings'

Richard was educated in Ireland but has lived and worked in Milan for the past decade. He has exhibited widely and regularly since the mid-1980s, in Dublin, London, Milan and Tokyo.

His highly considered and intelligent approach to some of the most enduring questions of form and composition in Western painting has resulted in a distinctly individual body of work. In recent years his naturally understated gifts as a colourist have became more and more evident with an exploration of the compositional tension between increasingly prominent and boldly simplified, irregular blocks of colour.

This new collection will be exhibited in the Alternative Entertainments Gallery at the Civic Theatre, and County Hall, Tallaght, from the 7th December 2005 until 30th January 2006.

The exhibition and book will be officially launched at a private viewing by Robert Maharry on Thursday 8th December at 5.30 pm.
